This morning was Laura’s first mini-bus experience and seeing Addis in the day time. She handled herself so well for seeing everything the 1st time, I was very impressed. Church was great today and afterwards we went to lunch w/the team at a faculty member of ETC’s house. It was an adventure getting there. We enjoyed wonderful Indian food and fellowship. The kids played so well together…it was a great 1st experience for Laura. After getting home in the evening the kids and I did a little food shopping and came home to bleach and wash the lettuce and fruit-wow, this takes a lot of work :) Kristen isn’t feeling great today, and was able to rest this afternoon and seemed to be feeling better this evening. It was nice to have a relaxing evening at home!

I woke up this morning to Jacob throwing up AGAIN L poor little guy-evidently he has a little stomach bug of some sort that’s lasted a week now. As the day has gone on today he seems totally fine & never got sick again, so not sure whats going on…today the kids and I had a big adventure going to the SIM head quarters to pick up money for groceries and then to the supermarket. This was an all afternoon adventure. :) We took a mini-bus then walked a ways…..I had only been this way one time & was pretty sure I remembered where to go, but after about walking one direction for about 5 minutes nothing looked familiar. We asked several people, but never got a straight answer. I finally called Falk and the other team members who were all together grading and they gave me a well known hospital name across the street from SIM. This helped some, but I still got mixed directions from the locals on the street. At this point the little kids were frustrated and saying their legs hurt & I was starting to get a little nervous b/c I wasn’t quiet sure where I went wrong on the directions. I had decided it was best to find a contract taxi b/c they speak good English. So we stopped and I was looking around to see if I saw one when 2 women walked by and I guess picked up on the fact that I looked lost :) lol they both spoke great English and knew where we needed to go and were so sweet to go out of their way to walk us there! We were only one street off and I was so thankful to see familiar sights again & the kids were TOO! This was perfect timing as the skies were getting dark and we could hear thunder & see lightening close by. We spent some time playing there for the kids to rest and then headed back to find the supermarket. This took a little time to find a minibus, but once we got on we had no problems-the kids really like riding them. We went to a new store today and after leaving the store we decided a contract taxi was the best way to get all of us and our groceries home….amazing how grocery shopping at one store has now taken us over 3.5 hours from when we first left home ! Oh the fun of doing errands in a 3rd world country!
