No emails from Falk today (and evidently they have no phone access), but my friend Kristen who is on our team sent me the following that i thought I would share about church on Sunday at the Internation Church there in Addis & alittle info about their classes.

“Church was good on Sunday. Andy and I (Kristen) were on the worship team and we each went to different Sunday school classes and go to know some people there. Today, we ate with the IEC (Int’l Evang Church) staff and got to know them better. They are a godly and amazing group of people.

The students in our classes are great. We are enjoying helping them to think theologically and understand Scripture. It definitely is a challenge to communicate clearly, as some of them have poor English. In our discussion groups, we often ask someone who is “getting it” to communicate in Amharic with the others. But I think that the language issue causes us to get tired more easily.”

On our team Vic, Andy, Kristen & Falk are all team teaching two classes. Vic has divided out the classes so that they each teach a specific number of lectures over the course, but for every class they each lead smaller discussion groups (I believe the classes are fairly large if i remember correct from what Vic has said before we left from last years experiences). Falk taught a class this morning and I know Kristen taught this evening and will again in the morning. For Falk & Kristen it requires more prep work b/c this is their first teaching experience for these course (Andy was on the team last year). So your prayers for each of them as they prepare for the small group times & lead these, as well as their individual teaching times would be greatly appreciated!

Here in Germany, we are all very tired tonight & I’m heading to bed earlier than usual.
