Saturday & Sunday

Hi friends! We’ve had a fun & full last weekend here in Addis & have had wonderful times with our new friends. It’s hard to believe we are already having to say goodbye   Saturday we had several activities planned, but around 9am found out that there had been some muslim riots in town during the evening and the US embassy was asking all relief organizations to lay low for 24 hours, so we ended up spending the day at home within our compound which turned out to be nice as I got to cook with Enguday and write down some recipes that we have really enjoyed here and in the evening prepared for our big “american food” thank you party we had for our helpers Feleckech and Enguguday and their families last night. Saturday evening we had dinner w/our leader Vic and prepared for the skit we all were to perform on Sunday morning. Unfortunatly around 2am Jacob woke up throwing up AGAIN and this continued w/diahrrea thru the night into the early a.m. So the kids and i ended up staying home Sunday morning while Kristen, Laura and Falk revamped our skit and performed without me. I was able to prepare for our party all morning while Jacob rested (thankfully he seems to have recovered and slept well last night w/no problems)-huge praise!! Last night we enjoyed a very special time w/Feleckech and Enguyday and their families. We wanted to cook “american food” for them so we had oven bbq chicken, scalloped potatoes, salad and brownies! The food was definitly differenent for them, but i think they enjoyed it! We had a few special gifts to present to them as a thank you and just enjoyed the time of fellowship with them! It is VERY difficult to think of having to say goodbye in the next few days-they have truly become like family to us!!
